The work presents organic sub-bandgap Schottky-barrier photodetectors that operate in the near-infrared region using a patternless multilayer thin-film architecture. By integrating broadband coherent perfect absorption with tunable visible color appearance, the device enables strong light absorption in an ultrathin metal layer for internal photoemission, independent of incident angle and polarization.
